Artist Showcase: Robert Siegelman
Robert Siegelman pursues two distinct media, printmaking and photography. As a photographer, Siegelman first focused on Polaroid 20x24 work, commenting on the history of gay life in New England and using models to explore such aspects of sexuality as self-discovery, connection, loneliness, and vulnerability. He continues to examine these themes in his digital work, often combining multiple images. Sometimes the result is a juxtaposition from diverse contexts; sometimes, using exposures from a single sheet, a narrative is developed.
Siegelman's work is in the collections of the Boston Public Library, the Harvard University Art Museums, the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and numerous private and corporate collections. We are thrilled to feature his work at GFS Gallery.
